The Government Medical College (GMC), Nashik was established vide Government Resolution (GR) dated 05/04/2021 and operational since 16/08/2024, with an approved intake capacity of 100 MBBS students and a 430-bedded teaching hospital.

At present, GMC, Nashik is functioning from the premises of the New Bytco Hospital, Nashik and District Civil Hospital, Nashik, under a duly executed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 07/06/2022. The District Civil Hospital, Nashik, being the largest district hospital in North Maharashtra, caters to the healthcare needs of Nashik district and the surrounding regions.

Currently, GMC Nashik has commenced the MBBS program with an annual intake of 50 students and 607 operational beds including 30 emergency beds.
